Appeal for aid

"If you can't feed a hundred people, then just feed one." Mother Teresa.

And yet out in Aklan, such a challenge is too ordinary. For out there, where 12,239 families lost
their homes or where 25,320 families have partially damaged houses, to attempt to feed a hundred is in itself a call that everyone has started to respond to.

In far greater measure, Dios Mabalos Po Foundation, a not for profit, non stock, non government
organization, in partnership with Assisi Foundation, has committed to feed as many as are cold,
wet and hungry throughout the province of Aklan.

The implementation of the Hapag Asa Integrated Nutrition program was born due to a recognized need for assistance of the children of Albay. When typhoon Durian (Reming) devastated Albay, it became a top priority program of DMPF.

In 2007, Dios Mabalos Po Foundation fed 47,000 children from Albay, Sorsogon, and
Catanduanes through its partner organizations. This year, while preparing for its partnership
meeting, the call to heed the cries of the Aklanons was heard by DMPF.

With 340 packs of vitameal (a micro nutrient package) worth about half a million pesos from the
Assisi foundation and rice and ingredients that are provided by donor and benefactors, DMPF
staff leave Albay for Aklan bringing with them their pots and ladles and some initial sacks of rice
to feed a targeted 10,000 young and old residents in need daily.

We write to request your assistance in the form of cash or kind to support our community kitchen. Ten thousand persons to be fed require us to prepare rice and ingredients amounting to no less than Php 50,000.00 daily.

We acknowledge that some GIVE to the persons in need thru MINISTRY and yet others Minister to the persons in need through GIVING. Some have asked to join the community kitchen volunteer group. We welcome them. Others have offered rice, canned good, tarpaulins and mosquito nets and have asked that we pass them on to those who are in need. We are grateful for their generosity.

Whatever you find in your heart to donate is welcome. The feeding program will last for the next
45 days until August 15th.

Kindly call... 639065795093 (Badeth) or (052) 4833505 (Beth) for instructions regarding your donations or inquiries.
